It's no fun to read a blog post if there aren't any pictures. Sorry, you'll have to deal since I broke the camera.
Dan's parents drove up to visit us a few weekends ago and we've never been so stoked to see that cute couple in their white car pull up in our driveway! We sure miss seeing Dan's parents and they said they had to spoil us extra good in one trip since they don't get to do as much constant spoiling now that we live in Idaho.
We started off downtown at Dan's favorite Napoleon pizza places- Protos. They make everything fresh and we all enjoyed our thin crust pizzas and gelato for dessert. We also enjoyed the hostess was wearing her backless leotard and cheerleader skirt. It showed off her tats nicely.
After dinner we walked around downtown and showed them some of the musical pieces of art that make noise and music when you walk by them. After dinner we parted ways and prepared ourselves for the egg factory.
We went to the egg factory and as always, enjoyed every last bite. Dan got his usual buttermilk pancakes, ham, factory potatoes, and ham. After breakfast we went downtown to the lake and walked around the greenbelt and watched the kayakers.
They picked up on the fact that our trees and shrubs are all overgrown (taking over our yard) and that we also use a tarp to haul dirt and rocks. We load up the tarp and then drag it across the lawn. It kind of looks like we are transporting bodies, but it's just rocks and dirt.
They decided Dan needed some good retail therapy at Lowes. They bought him this giant tree trimmer that looks like a grim reaper scythe. It has an extender and probably goes a good 10-15 feet into the air. They also bought a wheelbarrow and "loppers" (that's what Dan calls em) I thought they were just giant shrub shears. We were so spoiled!!
We came back and tried out the tools and trimmed up the apple tree.
After the trimming, we went to Fudruckers and about died after eating steak sandwiches and fries and ice cream. After dinner they treated us to Iron Man 3 and it was really good to see Dan's face light up for 2.3 hours straight!
We had such an amazing time with them visiting and it definitely boosted Dan's spirits to see his parents. We went to church on Sunday and then my heart broke as Dan stood on the corner and waved at his parents goodbye until their car was no longer in sight :(
We just love Dan's parents and always have a great time when we see them. If only my camera was working, then there would be lots of great pictures to go along with this post!
