the flu

Oh Good. I just got ahead of hitting the one month mark since our last post. Time is flying by and standing still all at once. Dan is loving his job and working like a maniac which is great for our financial goals, but sometimes I want to hire a maid or a nanny on the days he works his extra shifts, mostly just because I want to take a nap and not clean. Too honest?

I have to sort through the pictures on my phone to figure out what we have been up to in the last month. I know we went to Idaho Falls and when I say we, I mean Simon and I, and then Dan joined us a few days later.

The trip to Idaho Falls was abruptly interrupted when Simon started throwing up. It was heart breaking. I pulled over and got him cleaned up and bought a bunch of supplies at the Family Dollar in Glenns Ferry. Thank heavens for Family Dollar! He threw up again another hour down the road and this time we had to pull off and down a farm road and kind of into a potato field. It was so sad. We went through quite the roller coaster of thinking he was better and then him getting sick again and finally I took him to the ER in Idaho Falls because it was midnight and I was very worried about him being dehydrated...which he was...so they gave him Zofran and he eventually started holding down liquids. He continued on with these flu spells for about 3 weeks and it was so sad! He got pretty skinny, he pooped all up himself, out the diaper, down the legs, on the carpet and all over me and in the bathtub all in one night. That was rough. We earned some new notches on our parent belts for sure.

Other than that, we attempted to hike Table Rock for my birthday and we had to turn around before the top because of weather, but it was pretty awesome to at least try.

oh wait. Apparently I don't know how to sync my phone to my blog anymore. what a waste! No pictures for now, but at least I got down the important parts I never want to forget!
